As reported by Soap Central in March, All My Children is looking to bring back some familiar faces from its rich history. Though initially a hush-hush operation, the show now confirms that it has recast the roles of Tim Dillon and Frank Hubbard.
Tim, the son of Alex and Natalie Hunter, was later adopted by Trevor Dillon. When he was last seen, Tim was preparing to head off to school in Paris. He has been mentioned several subsequent times since then, but the character has not made an on-air appearance since April 1999.
Tommy J. Michaels (ex-Tim Dillon), who played Tim from 1990 through 1999, will not be reprising the role.
Instead newcomer Dylan Fergus will take over the role of Tim Dillon beginning July 3rd.
All My Children has also put out a casting call for Amanda Dillon, Tim's younger sister, but there's been no word on whether or not that role has been cast yet.
Frank Hubbard, the son of daytime's first African American super couple, Jesse and Angie Hubbard was last seen on the now-canceled The City -- not All My Children. Prior to the final episode of The City, Frank moved to California to attend school and to be close to his girlfriend.
Alimi Ballard was the last actor to hold down the role, playing the part on Loving from 1993 to 1995 and then on The City from 1995 to 1996.
This time around, Frank will be played by Jason Olive-(ex-Frank Lomax, Passions; ex Adrian "Sugar" Hill, Guiding Light). In addition to his previous work in daytime, Olive has appeared in the films Possum and Punks.
Olive's first airdate as Frank has not been made available.
The return of Tim and Frank is sparking hope among long-time AMC viewers that other fan-favorite performers will also return. While it is possible that the parents of the two characters will return, it looks unlikely at this time that the actors best known for those roles will be back in Pine Valley.
James Kiberd (ex-Trevor Dillon) is booked through the summer in a series of Shakespeare stage plays.
Robin Mattson (ex-Janet Green) is actively participating in an online e-commerce venture.
Emmy winner Debbi Morgan (ex-Angie Hubbard) was recently signed to a new television series called For The People.
Darnell Williams (ex-Jesse Hubbard) appeared last year in spirit form. Though the character of Jesse Hubbard is deceased, it's possible that actor could return again in spirit form. However, on The City, the Emmy winning Williams, played Jacob Foster -- a look-alike of his AMC alter ego.
