GH and DAYS receive 2018 WGA nominations

ABC's General Hospital and NBC's Days of our Lives are once again going head to head at the Writers Guild of America awards, with both shows receiving nominations for their work in 2018.

Congratulations are in order for both General Hospital and Days of our Lives. The rival soap operas have once again received Writers Guild Award nominations for their work this year.

The WGA awards recognize outstanding achievement in television, new media, news, radio/audio, and promotional writing during 2018. Both GH and DAYS were nominated last year, with GH taking home the win for the third consecutive time. Neither The Young and the Restless nor The Bold and the Beautiful received WGA nominations, as has been the case for the last couple of years.

GH's award-winning writing team consists of head writers Shelly Altman and Christopher Van Etten along with writers Barbara Bloom, Anna Theresa Cascio, Suzanne Flynn, Charlotte Gibson, Lucky Gold, Kate Hall, Elizabeth Korte, Daniel James O'Connor, Donny Sheldon, and Scott Sickles. DAYS' writing team consists of head writer Ron Carlivati along with writers Sheri Anderson, Lorraine Broderick, David Cherrill, Joanna Cohen, Lisa Connor, Carolyn Culliton, Richard Culliton, Rick Draughon, Cydney Kelley, David Kreizman, David A. Levinson, Rebecca McCarty, Ryan Quan, Dave Ryan, Katherine Schock, Elizabeth Snyder, and Tyler Topits. This year's WGA winners will be honored at the 2019 Writers Guild Awards on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at concurrent ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York City.
