Briana Lane steps back into the shoes of Brook Lynn Quartermaine this week on General Hospital. The actress revealed that she had just 48 hours to prepare for the last-minute, one-day visit to Port Charles.
"It had been two years since I was last on the show, so I'd forgotten what my mannerisms were and how I spoke [as Brook Lynn]," Lane told Soap Opera Digest. I went through tons of videos of Amanda's most recent performances to gauge how Brook Lynn has evolved and then I watched my old episodes to help myself remember how I played her."
Lane also shared that she found it challenging to memorize her lines due to recovering from COVID.
Despite the challenges, returning to the GH set felt like a homecoming for Lane. She said, "I worked with Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase), and he is such a team player and makes you feel like he has your back in scenes." She also expressed how Executive Producer Frank Valentini makes everyone on set feel like they belong there.
Lane first stepped in as Brook Lynn in 2020 when she filled in during Sutton's maternity leave. For her short-term run on GH, Lane received a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Guest Performer category in 2021.
Since leaving General Hospital, Lane appeared in the awesomely titled short Terrordactyl: Extinction USA. Another project, a film called Nora, is currently in post-production.
