Back in July, Soap Central reported that Emmy-winning General Hospital actress Chloe Lanier (Nelle Benson) was making a comedy film called The Reveal that starred herself alongside other daytime faves like Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase, GH) and Brytni Sarpy (Elena Dawson, The Young and the Restless; ex-Valerie Spencer, GH). Now, Lanier is sharing the first teaser trailer from the star-studded film that she cowrote and coproduced with her boyfriend, Kevan McClellan.
During the film's fundraising stage, Lanier wrote that she begged McClellan to write something with her, as she was dying of "frustration and an unrelenting urge to put my own creative stamp on a project." The result was The Reveal, an irreverent satire that centers around a young couple (Lanier and McClellan) who attend their hippie friends' gender reveal party only to realize their own issues and conflicts within their relationship.
Lanier took to Instagram with the teaser trailer of the film along with a huge thank you "to everyone who contributed their time/money to this project! You know who you are & we are eternally grateful."
Lanier originally joined the cast of GH as a young Patricia Spencer in flashback scenes that aired in 2015. The show's powers that be were so impressed with her performances, they brought her back the following year in the newly created role of Nelle. After just two years of playing the love-to-hate character, Lanier decided to exit GH so she could focus on primetime and film projects -- The Reveal now being one of them.
However, Lanier recently made a return to GH in a storyline opposite All My Children alum Michael E. Knight (ex-Tad Martin), who plays the role of attorney Martin Gray. Viewers recently saw Nelle frustrated over not being granted parole -- and rumor has it, she'll soon be hatching an escape plan and breaking out of prison. Watch out, Port Charles!
