General Hospital's Dr. Liesl Obrecht has seen her fair share of scary medical situations, but could she handle a zombie apocalypse? The world may never know, but we're getting the next best thing. Her portrayer, Kathleen Gati, is a star of the new The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead web series offshoot Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462.
The 16-part web series, which debuted last night with its first episode (see below), follows a group of airplane passengers who realize one of their fellow travelers is infected.
"'Flight 462' is a great extension of the world of Fear and will engage fans across multiple platforms with another riveting story set at the start of the fall of civilization," said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV. "We are thrilled to be collaborating with Dave Erickson and David Wiener on another piece of original content. Watching how they'll bring one of these new characters to the second season of Fear will be really exciting for viewers to follow."
Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462 is meant to bridge the gap between season six of The Walking Dead (which debuts on October 11) and season two of Fear the Walking Dead, which will return with 15 episodes in 2016.
Gati teased this gig on a recent appearance on the Kroll Call podcast in which she dropped by to talk about her work in the web series Winterthorne. To listen to Gati's interview, click here.
