Former General Hospital star John Stamos (ex-Blackie Parrish) was arrested for driving under the influence late Friday night, the Beverly Hills Police Department has confirmed.
Police received numerous calls of a silver Mercedes being driving erratically around 7:45pm in the area of Canon Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard. The driver was pulled over by police on Beverly Drive, and he identified himself as Stamos. The actor was in the car by himself.
The GH star, who is better known as Uncle Jesse on Full House, was transported to a nearby hospital for an undisclosed medical condition. Tests confirmed Stamos was under the influence, and he was subsequently placed under arrest for misdemeanor DUI. Police issued Stamos a citation and released him to the care of the hospital.
Stamos is scheduled to appear in court on the DUI charge on September 11.
Stamos has several new projects waiting in the wings. He'll appear in FOX's Grandfathered this fall, and NetFlix's Fuller House, a Full House sequel, in 2016. Neither project has a firm premiere date.
Stamos appeared on GH as drummer Blackie Parrish from 1982 to 1984.
