While many people toast the New Year with a glass of champagne, General Hospital's Kelly Thiebaud (Britt Westbourne) seems to kick off each year with an injury. The actress broke her wrist in a skateboarding mishap.

Last year around this time, Thiebaud was on crutches after she fractured her femur. That injury was written into the show with a passing mention that Frisco may or may not have had something to do with Britt hobbling around on crutches.

"January is my month to break my bones," the actress joked to Soaps In Depth. "I need to be handcuffed so I have to stay in one place."

Thiebaud took to Twitter to thanks fans for their concern.

"Hey y'all, thanks 4 all the get well tweets. Means a lot," Thiebuad wrote. "I'm doing pretty ok. Who knew skateboarding could be so dangerous!?"

The show has reportedly not decided if the injured arm will be written into story.
