Wedding bells are ringing once again in Salem, and with the harmonious sound comes the return of two legendary entertainers. Singer Marilyn McCoo and her husband, Billy Davis, Jr., are heading back to Days of our Lives.
According to Soaps, McCoo will be reprising her role as Tamara Price -- former flame of Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and mother to Lani Price (Sal Stowers) -- on Monday, June 29. Her appearance comes just in time for Lani's second wedding to Eli (Lamon Archey), the first of which was blown up by Gabi (Camila Banus) in November.
McCoo will once again be joined by her husband, who will reprise his role as Eli's former FBI mentor, Billy, that same day. The couple previously appeared for Eli and Lani's first wedding last fall.
McCoo has a long history with DAYS, originally starring on the show from 1986 to 1987. She also performed as a singer on the NBC soap opera on numerous occasions. However, the multi-Grammy winner is arguably best known for hosting Solid Gold from 1981 through 1984 and again from 1986 through 1988.
McCoo and Davis' work on DAYS isn't the only time they've worked together as a couple. They're both known for being part of the singing group The 5th Dimension and frequently perform as a musical duo, having had hit records during 1976 and 1977 with "I Hope We Get to Love in Time," "Your Love," and "You Don't Have to Be a Star (To Be in My Show)" -- the latter of which won a Grammy Award. The couple made history in 1977 as the first African American married pair to host a network television show with The Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. Show. They also appeared as themselves on Santa Barbara back in 1985.
